For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Very clean nice staff. Children play areas and pool not opened because of Covid-19 but looked very nice. We knew it was 35 miles from SF but feel it is well worth it after looking at other options around the city.muffy

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: This place is a combination of Disneyland and a baseball park. We arrived on a Friday evening after miles of traveling from the Redwood Coast and were a bit overwhelmed by the number of people. They had all the amenities, water, hook ups, electricity, Internet. But had no notice of quiet time and we saw no one coming around to check on or discipline the number of people doing stuff. There was a wedding party in the event tent that pretty much drowned out every other activity. Bathrooms were adequate. If you’re looking for quiet and getting away, trying another place.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Beware. - BAD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - I have a surge protector for connecting to the post. There 50 Amp power tripped the surge protector. The voltage was anywhere from 108 to high 130,S. When I complained their go to maintenance electrician expert said in the morning they do get some voltage swings but I would be OK. That evening when we arrived home it was worse, kept tripping. I called the office and a lady came over and told me that my surge protector was the problem. I told her it was doing what it was intended to do which is protect the equipment in the coach from bad power. She said my surge protector was faulty. I said I don't think so and if that was the case I would apologize. The next morning the electric expert guy shows up and starts yelling at me that I had a choice, either hook up direct which I said I wouldn't do, or I could leave. We left. Nothing wrong with the surge protector as it has worked fine ever since. To pay 80.00 for a place like this and be treated as we were treated, I wouldn't return even if it was free... Now the 200 or so kids running about seemed to be enjoying their stay and the music was certainly loud enough. And the woodsmoke smell is almost gone from our coach. I'm sure they have sites that you can level your coach on somewhere. After 5 months away from home this campground was our worst experience period, I would rather stay at a truck stop.

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Well all I can say is we are here & this place is a joke. You are 50+ miles from San Francisco & they say they have cable & internet & there's neither. Well maybe if you wanna sit at the pool with winter clothes on. Please ppl don't advertise stuff you don't have, then I'm driving a big rig & spots aren't level & flyer says full hook ups. No one told me someone comes around with sewage truck til I'm already in my hard to get to spot & I ask where is sewage & internet & cable?? This place doesn't have it going on except for the children they do. There is lots for them. There's lots of garbage that we seen when pulling to our spot that had no number from where we were told to pull thru to????

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Please keep in mind when booking at this KOA they should not have the name San Francisco in it because they are about 60 miles away from San Francisco. Nice place but very misleading!!!!

Gone With the Woods

For KOA San Francisco North Petaluma: Please be very careful if you book reservations at this campground and have a dog that in any way resembles a pit bull. While the information on the KOA app nor their website lists anything about breed specific legislation they do send out an email confirmation that states no pit bulls or mixes. What they fail to inform you of is that they have numerous other breeds that they also prohibit. Unfortunately when you arrive they tell you that and then make a decision based on your dogs looks whether or not they will be allowed entry. In my case a supervisor came out to my truck, reached into my truck and petted my dog. She commented how sweet and well behaved my dog was and then informed me she wouldn't be allowed because she looked like a pit bull. At that point I had no choice but to attempt a U-Turn in there very tight entry and find another park. Now my family gets to spend three days in a FEMA park instead of this KOA.
