For Keesler AFB FamCamp: Have stayed there a few times before COVID. Ok camp. Most sites have hills. Site 29 has the worst hill. Must get RV right at the top of the high and chalk tires or you could roll back or forward. Had problems find site and no one offered assistance to find it. Hooks work fine and all. Had full hook ups. Ultimately a pretty decent place and will use again when we return.

For Keesler AFB FamCamp: No frills RV park not located on the base. A lot of long term campers but they do keep their site neat. Camp host was friendly and helpful. He followed us tot he site and shared local information. The office staff was lethargic and not helpful. They are not familiar with RVs or the local area. Had no idea which restaurants delivered to the park. Sites are long, but on a steep slope. Site 43 - You have to pull to front of site to be level which means your awning doesn’t cover the picnic table provided. Site 43 also does not have cable. The front office did not tell us when we checked in so we spent about an hour trying to make it work. (No apology or discount offered 😒) The laundry room was the worst I’ve experienced. There are 5 washers and dryers, only 3 of each were operational. The outside of the washers and dryers were rusty. The washers and dryers smelled like wet dogs. You had to clean the machines before you could wash or dry. One dryer had dog poop in it. Someone had washed and dried clothes with dog poop in them. YUK! Paid $132 for the week. We parked here in a 32 ft Motorhome. I might stay there again if I were in the are but would not do laundry.

For Keesler AFB FamCamp: Not much to be desired for an AFB famcamp. We have a 44 ft 5th wheel, no problem getting in our pull through spot. We arrived right after office closed. There was a “host” right across from our spot when we pulled up. Didn’t see hide nor hair of him! Husband walking around reading signs on the window, trying to find the # for our spot. Useless, looks like he’s only a host for free camping. We had full hook ups but when they say the have mifi hot spots & cable boxes to rent, don’t count on it! Guy is office said they’ve been out for a long time. Also don’t plan on getting quarters for laundry, machine has also been broken for a long time. The was a lot of downed trees & limbs piled up everywhere from previous storms but no real hurry to get it cleaned up. Nice big area to walk dogs. All in all seemed pathetic, it’s sad because it had so much potential. We will probably not be back.

For Keesler AFB FamCamp: Traveling with: a 40’ Diesel Pusher towing a Minivan on a dolly. Approach roads:The park is a little bit of a hike from I-10, but all of the roads are wide and flat. Once you get close to the campground the the street does get into a bit of a neighborhood for around a mile or so. Spots: Paved. Note that the hookups (including sewer) are at the far back of the spot, so park accordingly. Amenities: Bathhouse was fine, if a little older and smaller. Stuff for Kids: Nice big park with playground 1/4 mi. from CG(with wide path along route) Considerations: CG is not connected to base. Backside of CG looks pretty tight for big rigs. You may be able to dry camp if required. Notes:Lovely CG close to local attractions 2015 Fleetwood Discovery 40G towing Toyota Sienna

For Keesler AFB FamCamp: Absolutely NOT big rig friendly!! Extremely narrow, one-way roads and very large trees with low hanging limbs throughout the park make this a terrible place for 45’ RV’s! Very narrow concrete pads at the campsites and most had steep angles on one or both ends of the pad that made it impossible to level the coach on most sites. After 15,000 miles over 7 months from Florida to Alaska and stays at more than 20 Military FAMCAMPS, this was the absolute worst for big rigs. Additionally, the Camp Office is ONLY open from 10am-3pm which is completely unacceptable for a NAF Family Camp Office. I would recommend the campground at the Navy Construction Battalion Base in Gulfport, MS, as they had much larger spaces and roads for the same price and it’s only 10 miles west along the coastline.

For Keesler AFB FamCamp: This was a very nice RV park. FHU. Site was level and cement. We had a pull through but there were back ins too. Cable Tv required a box and wifi required a MiFi device. Both required a deposit. We were there to site see so we didn’t watch much TV but did get about 10 channels over the air. Great site office and very courteous. We arrived late but Rick the site host was very friendly and helpful and got us to our site and even helped us park. We didn’t use the showers or laundry facilities. Great place to stay and will be staying there again.

Wade

For Keesler AFB FamCamp: The FamCamp is nice, however, the staff needs to understand that if a client asks for a site that can accommodate a 42' fifth wheel this includes getting out of the site. The front loop with pull through and back in sites all are accessible. In the back loop sites are extremely small with a sharp hairpin turn to get out, not to mention the 7% gradehill that you have to drive over as soon as you start pulling forward. My wife thought we were going to flip the camper when I pulled out. Management needs to understand that smaller sites are for smaller travel Trailers not 42 foot 5th wheel campers. I am being generous with the 3 star but is based on the whole experience. Weeds between sites were knee high. I am wondering where the US Air Force core values play into this organization. The front office staff wears a tee shirt and extremely tight shorts. Not my idea of AF professionalism, but I could be wrong.
