For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Need to spend some money on the electric hookups. Outlets are loose and cause sparking, plugs will not stay in the outlets, some are cracked and broken. Periodic inspection and maint would find these problems.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: What a lovely FamCamp! Plenty of space for all, granted this IS the off-season but the weather is still quite beautiful for January! We stayed here in our 44’ toy hauler.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by staff/SF for bigger rigs to use the TRUMAN Gate off of Gibson Ave.
Both the Truman and Eubank gates are open 24/7.
The Gibson and Wyoming gates have limited hours of operation M-F.
(It’s nice visiting a base that actually informs you of their gate hours.)
Security Forces at guard shacks are very well-versed in providing directions to the FamCamp and are very personable and friendly!
Pretty quiet stay in general and the dog park is great! Didn’t check out the bathroom or laundry facilities but the walking paths from the FamCamp through housing are very nice, well lit, provide doggie bags and trash cans along the way, walk past multiple playgrounds, and can even walk the entire pathway to Hardin Park which also has a well lit pathway around it.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here at Kirtland FamCamp and will be back!

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Nice spots, trees, decent laundry room. Our FHU 50 amp site was almost level and plenty long for our 40’ rig plus car behind it. (Sites vary.) Haven’t tried the rest rooms. Enjoy walking at the park a few blocks away. Campground is about half-full this month and nice and quiet.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Arrived on Oct 1st. Was number 9 on the waiting list and was assigned a dry camping spot of which there are many. Got a hookup spot the next day thanks to Dee in the office who arranged to have some tree branches removed in one spot so my RV would fit in it. The one shower in the men's bathroom next to the office could use some cleaning. Glad I was wearing shower shoes! Prices increased on October 1st to $10 a night for dry camping and $25 per night for a hookup site. The FamCamp site was mostly quiet except for what sounded like a high pressure air release from a building about a quarter mile from the FamCamp that occurred periodically during the day and night. It appears they are adding more dry camping spaces as well. There is some shade in most hookup sites, but no shade in the dry camping spots.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: Do not use the restrooms onsite!! The health department or someone should step in and make sure they are safe to use. Camp Host was very rude.

For Kirtland AFB FamCamp: This is to mostly let other rvers know of a problem to look out for when entering the base through Eubanks entrance - as directed on the website. We pulled into the far right gate that would make sense considering the Rv park entrance is on the right after you go through the gate. They have put a big round concrete barrier on the left & a big steel pole on the right which makes it VERY difficult to clear in a 40’ Rv.
The guard told us to use caution because it was so tight! My question is why they can’t move the steel pole over just a few inches so we can get through without damaging our Rv? OR at least post signs dircting the big rigs to use a different lane? I understand this is s problem other rigs have had. Please correct it!!!
